Rolling stock was transferred from NSB AS to Materiellselskapet AS on October 15. Sales and ticketing solutions were transferred from NSB AS to Entur AS on the same date.

Due to the Norwegian rail reform the Ministry of Transport and Communications will in the future own rolling stock and sales and ticketing solutions and make services from these available for all train operators in an open Norwegian train market.

Entur AS and Materiellselskapet AS are now established as separate companies wholly owned by NSB AS, but ownership will be transferred to the Ministry of Transport and Communications as the new owner during 2017.

Ownership of the rolling stock and sales and ticketing solutions are transferred to the new companies, and NSB has entered into lease agreements for both rolling stock and sales and ticketing solutions.

“We want to lay a good foundation for the new companies. Their mission is to ensure well-functioning trains and easy to use ticketing solutions, both of which are important for those who choose to travel by train”, says NSB Group CEO Geir Isaksen. He is also chairman of the board of Entur AS and Materiellselskapet AS until the Ministry of Transport and Communications takes over ownership of the companies next year.
